LOS ANGELES – The pre-nominations period for the inaugural Sex Awards opened Wednesday. Performers, talent agencies, novelty manufacturers, video producers and anyone else inside the adult entertainment industry are invited to submit nominees for consideration in 16 categories spanning the video, novelty and online segments of adult content.
Pre-nominations must be [email=paul@x3sixty.com]emailed to Paul Fishbein[/email] prior to noon PT June 3.
The Sex Awards, a co-produced by X3Sixty Network and AVN Media Network, are the first awards of their kind to be determined entirely by fans, Fishbein said, but nominations from inside the adult industry are an important part of the process.
“We would like everyone’s involvement prior to presenting choices to the consumer,” said Fishbein. “Then it will be completely up to the fans to vote for their favorite stars, products, and movies.
“Companies and producers should limit their suggestions to three products or titles,” he continued. “Talent can nominate themselves in any categories, plus anything they’ve performed in. Agents are welcome to nominate their clients in any categories, as well.”
Write-in voting for stars, sites and products not pre-nominated will be allowed during the fan-voting stage, Fishbein added.
Unless otherwise noted in the category’s description below, only products released between June 1, 2012, and May 31, 2013, are eligible for the 2013 Sex Awards.
The 2013 categories are:
Porn Star of the Year: most popular female adult star
Sexiest Adult Star: sexiest female adult star
Hottest Adult Stud: hottest male adult star
Hottest New Girl: hottest new female star; must have made her debut on a website or video-on-demand site on or after June 1, 2012, or in a DVD released between June 1, 2012, and May 31, 2013
Most Innovative Sex Toy for Women
Most Innovative Sex Toy for Men
Adult Movie of the Year
Adult Parody of the Year
Favorite Adult Website: no release date requirement, but the site must be active
Favorite Porn Star Website: no release date requirement, but the site must be active
Webcam Girl of the Year: any active female webcam model
Porn’s Perfect Screen Couple (Boy-Girl): must appear together in at least one sex scene released between June 1, 2012, and May 31, 2013
Porn’s Perfect Screen Couple (Girl-Girl): must appear together in at least one sex scene released between June 1, 2012, and May 31, 2013
Porn’s Best Body: any active female star
Hottest Sex Scene: from any movie, VOD site or website; scene must have debuted between June 1, 2012, and May 31, 2013
Greatest Celebrity Sex Tape of All Time: one-time-only category
Winners will be announced during The Sex Awards Show, an invitation-only event set to take place Sept. 25 at Lure in Hollywood, Calif. The show will be broadcast on a national television network during January 2014.
