YNOT – Grooby Productions has announced nominees for the 2010 Tranny Awards. The list is long and has the transsexual adult community buzzing. The winners will not be revealed until the Feb. 5 celebration at Blue Moon Nights in North Hollywood, Calif., but judging — and in a first for the three-year-old awards — actual public voting has begun.
“After last year we asked how the awards could be improved, and the overall feedback was that the fans wanted to get more involved,” said Grooby Chief Executive Officer Steven Gallon. “So, all the website model categories are available as well as a new Wildcard Award, which is for the most popular model with no other criteria.”
The Tranny Awards has grown substantially, Gallon said, attracting sponsorship from several major transgender adult companies, including Shemale Strokers, Shemale Profit, SMC Revenue and Gamma Entertainment.
“I’m excited to see all these sponsors, from the largest companies like Gamma to solo girl sites like Krissy4u,” Gallon said. “Since the sponsorship money goes directly to prizes, all the sponsors see this as giving something back to the transgender model and fan community.
“This event was created out of a need, as no other adult awards have recognized the transgender area of our industry or given it the respect we all deserve,” he added.
This year’s model winners will receive cash prizes of $1,000, and every category winner will receive a crystal trophy.
