Prejudice is so easily detectable when you open your eyes and see it.

Labeling people negatively with a broad brush comes to mind.

I just wonder why a researcher at an Ontario University would waste such time being a racist publically.

I know some smart racists, liberal racists, poor racists, rich racists, pretty racists, ugly racists.. the fuckers come in all shapes and sizes.. Revoke his grant and tell him to study something that's actually productive.

I'm from a very large multi ethnic, multi cultural, multi world environment. Everyone's lives are so tightly intertwined, it's actually difficult to have time for prejudice of that nature, that's not to say it doesn't exist. Prejudice simply put, is ignorance. More often than not, people are prejudice due to things that they don't understand.

Yeah... racism and prejudice are two very touchy subjects that can get out of hand very quickly... especially in this day and age. Times are changing, people, it's not the 1960's anymore...

I'm a huge fan of military history, and it seems every time I turn around I'm reading about how our military has become a mechanism for social change. The way that blacks were treated in the 1940s during WW2 - and also Asians - is so sad it's nearly comical. I'm reading a book about Marines in Vietnam right now, and even then there was a huge racial divide.

Now here in Northern California I've discovered there is another class of citizens - Hispanics, mostly Mexican. I see this now at my kid's school. In grade school, race didn't make a difference - Hispanics and Asians all played together with the caucasian kids. Now, at the middle school level, I see that less and less. My kid, in sixth grade, used to have Hispanic friends but not so much these days. It's interesting to watch.

My kid.... Is a mutt. She's Irish, Lebanese, Polish, and Italian. How the fuck do you discriminate against that?

I'm reading a book right now that actually shines a pretty good light on racism in the south in the early 1960s. It's crazy to think how ridiculous it was such a short time ago.

When I was in line at the best buy waiting for Black Friday, I was approached by a black woman demanding to know how many people were in line with me, I told her I was holding place for my GF and it wasn't any of her businest, I didn't like that she was demanding. Next thing I hear was her telling someone on the phone that this fat white old guy was being an ass. I stood up in front of her and her family and kids and demanded to know if she had always been in the habit of judging people by the color, size and age of the skin of a person in front of her kids setting an example and how would Martin Luther King feel about that? I had her appoligizing all over the place. She left us alone for the rest of the time we were there.
    I hate racism.

That study I'm sure was slanted and bias, peoples beliefs have nothing to do with their IQ, it's their mental age over their Chronological age, pure math.

Vend, I've experienced that a few times myself. I'm not exactly sure why some of us, as Caucasians, get treated that way, but but I am sure I'll hear the excuse "well, you guys did this to us so now it's our turn" if I ever ask someone why... Sorry, but history is history, the past is the past, get over it and move on. Am I wrong? lol.

There was this woman who I day jobed with who was all high and mighty on racism. She very proudly announced that she teaches her daughter to use peach and brown instead of black and white..... To this day she still doesn't get it. She got mad when I told her she was teaching her daughter to be racist. She admittingly voted for Obama because he was black. She teaches her daughter the same values. That skin color matters.. She refuses to see the errors in her ways.

But in her eyes, I'm the republican racist.. All I can say is "SEE"..

Sad that in my life, most of the racism I have heard come out of peoples mouths have not come from caucasians. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Vision was about everyone getting along.

Same here, I can 100% relate to your experience. All I ever hear is how everyone should be treated equal, etc, etc, but it's never the case...

I think that has less to do with race and more to do with the general stupidity of mankind itself.

I love shopping with my father in law. Wal Mart is a special treat. They live in poor crappy town so Wal Mart is even more exciting than it usually is, full of scary looking people. My father in law last time walked up this women with huge saggy tits and said "Jesus fucking Christ lady, would you like me to buy a bra?".
