Hmm I couldnt get myfreecams to work on linux but from what you say that would be microtransactions. It should disrupt any competing sites with a subscription model and usually leads to more traffic, higher conversion rates but lower arpu.

The downside is that microtransactions will force other sites to abandon the subscription model. And in this transition a lot of small sites will bite the dust again. It is quite inevitable that the rich get richer :/

Most cam sites don't have subscriptions, and the ones that do it just one of the services they offer not their primary focus, which is always either pay per minute billing or now the increasinly popular tipping method.
