Hi,
When I registered my domain, I thought "wanker" was a pretty amusing word. Just been checking yahoo searches and I'm coming up good on "complete wanker" ( as you'd expect ).
I also found a link to a resteraunt in Oregon

Seems you can buy "wankwear" and hats that say "wankers" on em. Now in the UK if you wore a hat like that you'd be getting a few sniggers.
So can some Americans tell me. Seems like "wanker" in the pejorative sense isn't understood over there???
Am I right?

I've been there. Wilsonville is just south of Portland. Damn good food!
Believe it or not, there was actually someone named Wanker that was the namesake for that particular junction of two very rural country roads way back when. The name obviously did not have the same connotation that it does today, but the wankerwear is certainly taking advantage of that now.

I'm always amused by the title of that movie
"Willie Wanker And the Chocolate Factory"... well that's almost what it's called.
"Wanker" also seems to be the family name of almost all soccer referrees over here.

I run studios for Asian chat girls and most "wankers" seem to feel these girls are totally submissive and can be ordered to do anything.
I always assume they got screwed over in the first second or whatever marriages and need to control and humiliate. Sort of sad .....but the girls seem to know how to handle the situation.
Their sense of humor is far greater than mine would be and they usually end up being the one in control.

Wanker is up there with a name like Boner or Cooter. There are only a few ways you can get away with saying certain things Boner, Wanker or Cooter in an average casual conversation one of those is if they are someone's nickname.
