New Talent Agency Specializes in Alt, BDSM, Fetish, LGBT Adult Performers

YNOT – Award-winning indie pornographer Courtney Trouble has founded a new talent-management and casting firm specializing in alternative, BDSM, fetish, queer, lesbian and transsexual performers seeking work in the adult entertainment industry. According to Trouble, Little Pink Book intends to provide ethical, professional assistance to authentic performers who have been unable to find representation elsewhere.
At present, the agency’s website, LittlePinkBook.biz, contains a database of more than 100 established and aspiring performers, Trouble said. Among them are 2009 Feminist Porn Awards Heartthrob of the Year winner Dylan Ryan and fetish model Sarah Lee Sinful. Both performers have appeared in Trouble’s films for Reel Queer Productions/Good Releasing and NoFauxxx.com.
“I have been told consistently that one of my greatest traits as a pornographer is my ability to cast the right person for the right project,” Trouble said. “Cultivating healthy working relationships with my performers has always been my biggest goal in this industry, and moving forward to promote these artists seems like the next logical step.”
She also said her broad background in adult entertainment gives her a variety of bases on which to relate to both fellow filmmakers and talent. Trouble began her career as a phone-sex operator, dispatcher and website designer in 2001 at the tender age of 18. In 2009, her first adult website, NoFauxxx.com, was named an editor’s choice for best queer porn site by the San Francisco Bay Guardian. This year the site garnered a 2010 Feminist Porn Awards nomination for Best Porn Site.
In 2009, Trouble produced nine films under the auspices of Good Releasing. Her first, No Fauxxx Roulette, won a Feminist Porn Award for Most Diverse Cast. No Fauxxx Roulette and Speakeasy were nominated for a 2010 AVN Award for Best Soundtrack. Six other Trouble films are among the nominees for 2010 Feminist Porn Awards.
Trouble also performs in front of the lens, not only in her own movies but also for directors including Furry Girl, Madison Young and Shine Louise Houston.
Little Pink Book opened in early March, but already Trouble is laying big plans for the future, she said.
“There has been a lot of great work done in female-friendly filmmaking over the past year, but no work has been done to connect the indie, feminist and queer genres to the mainstream,” she opined. “I hope to achieve a working relationship between indie and the mainstream by being a resource for casting and ethical business practices. It’s time to take this groundbreaking work behind the scenes into performer relations.”
