CHICAGO, IL -- Chicago may be Obama territory, but the regulars at Chicago’s North Side Old Town Ale House have a special place in their heart for GOP vice-presidential hopeful Sarah Palin – especially naked.
Thanks to artist and ale house co-owner Bruce Elliott, the place has been packing them in since last Thursday – when Elliott’s latest art installation went public.
The latest four-foot-tall portrait to join Elliott’s pre-existing hall of heroes is unique in as much as it does not feature a bar regular or even Chicagoan. Instead, the Windy Citizen reports that it has a more national focus: Sarah Palin. Nude.
Holding an automatic rifle while standing bare ass naked on a polar bear skin rug in front of snow covered mountains, the Alaskan governor wears her now-famous updo and cocky smile, as well as a pair of eyeglasses that possess wire frames.
“I don’t see how she could be offended by this,” Elliott observed to the Windy Citizen. “I made her into a sex figure.”
Elliott’s daughter Grace, whom he says “is a heck of a stand-in for Sarah Palin” and “can even do the voice,” served as the model for the popular painting.
In spite of the attention that the painting has brought to the Old Town Ale House, Elliott insists that he’s a supporter of Democratic presidential hopeful, Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.
