I'm currently looking for an adult host. I have a few in mind but am doing research on them. I have a good host I've been using for year for my other sites, however, they do not allow adult content.
I've heard positive things about Naked Hosting. I had almost decided to sign up with them until they try to offer me "Certified Protection" for $4.95/month. It's the first I've heard of this and I've been having a website for 10 years.
From what I gather, it protect you if your hosting uses "... too much server resources." Instead of them temporarily suspending your account for eating up too much server resources they put your account on a special server for 15 days to give you and the tech support time to find out why one's site is using too much resources.
Has anyone heard of this or dealt with this before? Of all the websites I've had, I can't say I've ever in my life had one that ate up too much resources.
The adult website I will be working on will not encompass any streaming of videos, hosting MGPs or TGPs, etc. It will be more of a community website running off of the Joomla CMS. I've used Joomla as the main structure in quite a few sites over the years and never had any resource issues.
Btw, this is for a shared hosting account.

I decided on a host, Max Pro Hosting. One of the main things I was looking for was to pay by month. I noticed another user on these forums was looking for a by-month host as well for the same reasons as I am.
Over the years of being online I've gotten burned more than once on yearly payments. I do have a annual payment with my host for my regular sites, but that's b/c I've been with them for about 5+ years. Unless they shut down I'm not going anywhere.
The setup was painless. I thought setup was automatic. They do them manually. Normally I would see that as a negative but I'm noticing that in the adult hosting industry it's not uncommon to see adult hosting providers manually setting up accounts. In ancy case, contacted them via ICQ (felt weird as it's been years since I've used ICQ).
Now I'm working on designing/developing the site. One of the projects is what I talked about in another post (view post). The other one will be a review site.
No, I don't plan on quitting my dayjob with it. My spin on the review site is that I'm very good at investigating things. My reviews will be in-depth. I'll also have articles about the different products and services as well as other adult-related information.
