learning the basics |
 |
 |
Hello everyone. my name is Armand and I am totally NEW to the webmaster arena. Can someone please help me understand the process of submitting a TGP to a site ? I know this is very basic yet I have just started this process and the terminology alone is very confusing. For example: in the standard submittal box they always require the URL of the return link. Which URL do I place there? the reciprocal link ? Please will someone help.
Thanks in advance for your kindness and for realizing we all start at the beginning at some point, right?

the recip link will be for the site you're submitting to, if you're submitting to the hun, your link will point towards them. or it could be one of an associated network of sites..

While Housekeeper is correct about the reciprocal link, I would like to add an answer a little fuller.
When you submit to a TGP, they want to make sure that you are pointing back at them (the reciprocal link). The URL that they are asking for is usually the URL of the page where they can find your reciprocal link. That is, they want to know where you are pointing to them from.
This serves 2 purposes. First, they know that you actually have a link back to them. Second, they can judge the value of your link. A link from the front page of your site, for instance, is much better (for them) than a link from a page that takes 8 clicks to get to.
Best of luck, and please feel free to ask as many questions as you like.
