Hi to me :o) |
 |
 |
Hey everyone,
I'm an old Newbie checking in I had a site back in the days when you could simply go fetch some random content, put it into a nice design and make money from it.
I can see that it clearly takes more work now, but I'm curious to learn more and hopefully get started again.
So... this is just a quick hello. Looking forward to getting to know some of you.
Oh and by the way, I'm in snowy Denmark (Northern Europe), in case anyone was wondering
Cheers,
Jesper

Hi Jesper
Welcome to International Ynot. I'm in SNOWIER Siberia. (That's in Eastern Europe and mostly the Asian part of Russia) which, depending on what school you went to, is either on the Eurasian continent or on both the continents of Europe and Asia, in the North eastern Hemisphere, regardless of whether anyone was wondering or not.
In Denmark do they believe there are 6 or 7 continents?
By the way-did I say HELLO?
By, by the way-Newbies are now required to leave a joke in the "Joke for Mass Dad" thread so don't forget to leave us a joke. Mass Dad really needs cheering up-he's one of those conservative crybabies that we're trying to cheer up with our liberal jokes. You can of course leave a conservative joke? How about a real Danish joke-of course if you leave it IN Danish I guess the joke will be on us.
Hello!

Hilsner, Jesper! Velkommen til YNOT!
(You can thank Google for the translation.)
How's the health care system in Denmark? We have a HUGE debate going on in another thread all about what the U. S. should do with our health care system. If you're smart, you'll pretend that you don't know anything about health care anywhere in the world.
What I know about Denmark:
* The largest city (and the only one I know) is Copenhagen.
* Copenhagen is not on the main peninsula, but is on an island.
* Copenhagen is actually close to Sweden.
* The people are supposed to very, very cool and laid-back.
* Danish law and tradition requires that all women, from 18 until death, must be incredibly beautiful.
What else should I know?

Unc
You left out the second most important part after beautiful woman:
You must drink your minimum standard of Aquavit every day!
"HUGE debate going on in another thread all about what the U. S. should do with our health care system"
A bunch of conservatives whining about the cost of aspirin is hardly a debate on health care and certainly not worth mentioning. The total number of "debaters" can be counted on 1 hand so it's far from huge! Unless you're talking about how high the pile of shit being shoveled is...
I think Denmark is the only democracy that is actually ruled by a king. I know Thailand and Nepal have kings that are involved in the government but I'm not sure if they are actual rulers or not.

"from 18 ... must be incredibly beautiful"
Just because Hans Christian Anderson wrote the "Ugly Ducking" doesn't mean a female must wait to be 18 to be beautiful in Denmark.

I try to keep my mind off of females under 18. Although, I'm sure that there are plenty of cute 17-year-olds in Denmark.

As a libertarian I can only say "Don't even think about it!!"
And if you go against my advice and do it... do it efficiently. We have loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong waitinglists for even the simplest of surgeries and personally, due to chronical disease, I use a private hospital. In Denmark we have both...

We don't have 'obscenity laws' as you do in the US. We can do anything on film and while it might spark a debate, as long as it's 'art' it's legal.
Prostitution is legal...
We pay approx. 50% in taxes and there's a salestax on EVERYTHING at 25% - not only do we let our 'government' steal 50% of our paycheck we also let the bump up the price for anything by 25%....

First of all... we do not have a king, we have a Queen. She's not the actual ruler but a very expensive figurehead of the kingdom. She's married to a french dude, who's a complete joke! (Ask any dane if they know a 'prince Henrik' joke...
Og til JesperDK... velkommen til.

Yikes! 50% Income Tax AND 25% Sales Tax?
Guess I'll be staying in the USA and just looking at pictures of Danish girls.

All of my Danish buddies swore that Swedes would come down on the ferry on weekends to get boozed up on what would be a "cheap" night out for them - I think it only gets pricier as go further north - is that still the case, Jesper?
Expensive or not, I gotta get up there one year for Roskilde Rock Festival - they have Lollapalooza-style lineups and Danes do like to party..

That's not the reason. The prices are pretty much the same, but bars and nightclubs close at around 2 AM in Sweden, while danish bars and nightclubs usually carry on longer than that.
Also, they can't just walk into their local store and buy alcohol. They have special shops for that... Swedes are weird...
