Adium / ICQ users... please help! |
 |
 |
Hey all... for some reason it used to be that when I was offline, any message that was sent to me or any request to be added would automatically sit on their servers until I logged on.
In short... most mornings when I log on to my adium, anything sent to me over night would pop up on my screen. Sometimes there would just be one message... others, there would be considerably more.
I've been offline for 8 days after being at the shows... logged on... and not one message popped up. I know for a fact that several people tried contacting me while I was out, as well as trying to add me.
I've gone thru the preferences and just can't figure it out... leaving my ICQ for 24 hours / day isn't an option either. Please help!

Sorry lad, I don't use either service, wouldn't have experience in that. I don't know if this will help, but with my mail program if I open it then leave messages read or unread, they are not accessible from another computer. Is there a chance the program was opened by someone else, seems something may have opened them already, then from where you're calling them it is blank.
But they should ultimately be on your server...actually come to think of it, I sent you an e-mail last week, got your response mail saying you would reply later. Perhaps it is in the preferences or somehow connected to your temporary reply note, or how you had it set up. Certainly worth a look see, something else called upon them it seems....
PS: What I'll do when I get home is check the path of the reply in the mail, that will surely bare information as to what took place in the transition...

Well... I upgraded to v. 1.4b17 and BAM... add requests, missed messages, etc came flooding in.
How freakin frustrating. I'm sure I've missed a ton of messages over the years
