Palin's new gig @ Fox News |
 |
 |
Congratulations to Sarah Palin on her new job at the Fox News Network. There had been a rumor about this for a while now, and I'm glad she finally came out---much more money than the governor gig was paying, and at least now she'll get to speak her mind.
Palin is like hot bread in the world of conservative politics (well, depending on the education level of the conservatives in question). Some people just can't seem to get enough:
""Governor Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the FOX News lineup," Bill Shine, executive vice president of programming, said in a statement... Palin, 45, is hugely popular with conservatives and has more than 1.1 million Facebook followers...Since resigning, Palin has had colossal success with her best-selling memoir "Going Rogue," released four months after she left office. She finished a nationwide tour in December after hitting some of the political battleground states from the 2008 election and drawing thousands of fans..."
She hasn't denied rumors that she intends to run for the White House in 2012---and I get the feeling that cementing her image into a popular TV news network every night is yet another tacit strategy towards that end. Not a good thing for the all-male hopefuls in the GOP camp who're currently jockeying for that same opportunity in 2012. What's interesting about this is that I believe that she has the potential to beat them all in the Republican primaries---with nothing more than her winning smile and hokey charm.
Palin is trash and she's not too bright, but I must admit that I admire her resilience, self-confidence, and tenacity. I hope she makes a political comeback. I really do! The Republicans who're rooting for her deserve her. And perhaps America is ready for its first female president. Maybe she'll somehow come up with all the answers to the problems that none of the guys could solve during the past couple hundred+ years. Who knows?

I'm so down with Palin as the nominee in 2012. I'd buy the bumper sticker right now:
PALIN / CHENEY 2012
I'd better check to see if I can cross over for the primaries!

PALIN / MASS-DAD
I wanna stand behind her driving her all the way.
And I'm gonna keep those crooked bankers Robert Rubin and Micheal Froman so they can steal me some funny money too. Hell if you can squeeze ENRON for cash and still get Obama to bail them out for 305 Billion tax dollars and get paid as an Obama teamster.. shit those are the fucking crooks I want on my team.
Fuck Cheney and his god dam dunkin donuts and mashed potatos. I want some real legal thieves.
And those dirty ACORN fuckers can cum too. I'm gonna need someone to take the fall when the shit hits the fan.
note to self: Ask Clinton for his notes on this.

They must be going for a "Daily Show" angle. You know, the funny but crazy contributor that brings hijinks and hilarity to the proceedings...

I think I know this one, a doorknob offers entrance to new places, serves as a gateway, an egress. And Miss Sarah looks good in a short skirt...

Palin and the doorknob?
I think I saw a video about a girl and a doorknob, but it was a long, long time ago.
I would think that Palin on Fox News would be pretty much the end of a Presidential bid--or any political career, for that matter. There absolutely must be someone (or many someones) recording everything she says in order to present it later in the worst possible light. Besides, how would she step away from all the money that she's making now?
And speaking of money, I read recently that Sarah PAC apparently bought a boatload of her book to send out to contributors to the PAC. The article pointed out that this is perfectly legal while she is a private citizen, but becomes pretty iffy if she were an elected official.
Finally, I also saw that she will be speaking at several Tea Party conventions. Obviously this helps with her right wing cred. But, of course, she doesn't really need any more cred with the right wing. And if the Tea Party and Republican mainstream get into it, then she could be in trouble during the nomination process.
Of course, having said all of that, I can also see someone like Palin believing that she could go on Fox for a few years and then step back into electoral politics. But I think it will be a lot more difficult than she thinks it will be.
One last note: as of 2 minutes ago, palincheney.com and palincheney2012.com are both gone. However, palinmassdad2012.com is still available.

so which did come first?
The Paliontologist or the ugly fossil herself...
"Why don't she just pose for Playboy already and get it over with... "
I can see Larry Flynt making an offer, they have published pics of piles of human shit, 90 year old toothless grannies, amputees, midgets, gorilla hairy woman, so called "freaks" of nature and some very homely home town honeys, BUT not even a year's work on Photoshop can retouch a person's real inner ugliness out of a pic. I just don't see Heff making that offer.
The picture in my mind of Rush Limburger whacking off to a Palin centerfold is pretty fucking funny though...

I agree. Palin is a dolt, but at least she seems to understand how to use demagoguery to increase her popularity and line her pockets. Her resignation from the governorship, the book tour, the Fox gig, the Tea Party speeches...none of these things were sudden or chance events. She had been thinking about this stuff for a while. Like any other politician, Palin is nothing more than an opportunist seeking to make herself rich(er). And why shouldn't she be if people are foolish enough to pay hundreds of $$ to listen to her speeches? I don't believe for one minute that Palin intends to give away a penny of that $100,000 she's getting for the tea Party rally---as she claims she will do.
This 'rebooted' version of Sarah Palin is exactly the same as the old version. She has no ideas, and her platform is 100% the same Obama bashing we heard from her during the 2008 campaign. But, I expect to see and hear a lot more from her---for now. I suspect the GOP will continue to use her to promote Obamahate. She's just announced her intentions to run in 2012. I don't think that the boys who run the GOP establishment will give her that opportunity. I believe they'll continue to use her to galvanize the faithful, and then find a tidy way to throw her under the bus when 2012 rolls around.

She's one of those who says, "I'll give all the proceeds to charity. And charity begins at home."

Well if.. IF.. she does give it away.. At least she will be giving away HER money and not mine.
Obama on the other hand.. Worked with ACORN and stole MY money (giving some of it to people who won't go make their own money) and then spent the rest on elections so he could steal even more of my money to give away to all the people who won't go make their own. OH and drug dealers and people who want to set up businesses where they can import teenage girls into America and work them in slave prostitution houses.
