I remember getting a letter from them... and at a time when I didn't even operate a streaming site. They just mass mailed them to anyone and everyone. I agree that their tactics were shady and SHOULD have been criminal.
Remember how some adult companies caved quickly and started paying Acacia off? Think of all the money they paid Acacia without them even holding a valid patent claim.
Also think of all the lame adult webmasters who thought that buying stock in Acacia was a good thing. Brilliant! I think some people actually ADMIRED these slimy tactics.

The only thing that would make this victory sweeter would be companies like Homegrown and Lightspeed refunded their money for fighting this for so long.

It's nice to see the good guys win once in a while.
I remember when all this started and I got more than one of those letters, and I had clients getting letters.
We knew we were right and they were wrong and it finally played out correctly and just.

What was that douchebags name who used to show up at the tradeshows from acacia? This was years ago... you could see him lingering around. He had a moustache... that's all I remember. When I was YNOT News editor I interviewed him a few times but man that is going back like 6 years.

I actually did a dance when I first heard about this news here. I received a letter from them years ago on a single model site I was working on. Later spoke with some AEBN reps, they weren't worried. I figured, if they are not worried about it, why should my little site be!
