Why Have Google Penalised Me
I set up a site a few weeks ago - www.hardcorebdsmporn.com and it was initially getting about 40 visitors a day on a variety of keywords some of which were achieiving front page status with Google.

About a week ago the traffic dried up and all my rankings disappeared. I haven't gone against any of googles rules as far as I'm aware using purely white hat techniques, written unique content and haven't purchased any inbound links (infact I don't have any inbound links as yet which obviously doesn't help my SEO but I can't see that that is a reason for google to punish me).

There is nothing in webmaster tools to point to what the problem is so I would be grateful for any suggestions.

I see you're a Kink.com affiliate... nice. Great company.

That said... I don't think any of us could say exactly what the problem is... so assuming you're not breaking any obvious rules, what I'd ask is this: Are you sure Google penalized you, rather than your site simply getting a new ranking? Rankings can change from time to time on search engines.

Your site is still very new and not registering a lot of data to be ranked. It generally takes three months of operation for your data to begin to average out an accurate figure.

For instance, your Alexa rating is 16,939,293 which really sucks. But you only have two months of data for a three month average for the rating. (pageviews & visitors) So your not going to show improvement until October.

You pretty much have three pages. So your limited to how many page views each visitor can register.

Your comments are closed. Open them and set it to admin moderation. Sure you will collect some spam but your holding them for approval so no foul. Also make sure those pingbacks and trackbacks are turned on.

Write some more pages. You can back date inside the editor. Doesn't count for rankings but gives the peeps more to check out. IE Make a June and May.

All these will help as you move along but nothing does a blog good like time and consistency. Get to writing a post every week. Then twice a week, then eventually every day. I have a political blog that gets updated daily and it has for a solid year now. And we have return visitors. If that's not possible, then get it on a schedule, any schedule is better then whenever you get around to it. Very Happy

Why don't you just focus on creating unique content ? Google will pick it up sooner or later. Don't look in your stats every day.

thanks for your comments and guidance. I will be working on getting more content on there and don't expect anything to happen overnight but in answer to connors point about whether or not I have been penalised the reason why I think I may be is not only have I lost rankings for any keywords that I did rank for before but also for hardcorebdsmporn which is unusual to lose it when its your own domain name.

You are not banned as your site is still indexed with Google.
I suggest you install Google Analytics (be sure to follow all instructions) which will tell you if there are any obvious problems Google dislikes.
www.google.com

Also, the Wordpress Plugin Wassup is a very good way to see your traffic in real time, and see what keywords are sending you traffic, if at all.
www.wpwp.org

And getting relevant inbound links from sites with at least some PR is crucial.

By the way, since your blog is so new, the visitors you initially got were probably mostly through blog directories (like Google's blog search results): you post something, Google scans your posts, then displays your post as a blog search result if somebody searched for keywords you have in your post on blogsearch.google.com

(Every so often you'll also get ranked in Google's regular results, but usually only as long as you are ranked highly in its blog directory - which isn't for very long. They change this all the time so this may or may not have been the case in your situation.)

But you'll very quickly drop down the ranks and eventually vanish, hence getting much less, if any, visitors.
When somebody else posts something with the same keywords after you published your post, that blog will rank higher than you. Imagine this happen many times per day (depending on keywords/content) and you see why you can drop very quickly there.
Blog search engine rankings are quick to achieve, and newbies are thrilled to see "all this traffic" come in almost right away - but those blog directory rankings don't last long.
Getting and staying in Google's actual ("normal") search results will take some time.

Little tip: Google doesn't like blogs that feature nothing but affiliate links (yes, they know). Throw in some text (authored by you!) without any affiliate links every once in a while. This little strategy helps over time.

Hope this helps

Very simply you have a new site and it is suffering from "googl dance" (search on Google for more info). Build content and backlinks steadily and thins will happen, but it will take maybe months.

To echo what some of the others said, two things:

1. This is normal for a new site to get some rankings right away and then drop out of existence. It happens all the time.

2. You need unique, exclusive, creative content and don't have all of it linking out to a sponsor program.

Your site looks very good and going with a blog is the right way to go.

mass-dad, Marcel, and onewayadultlinks.com are all correct.

I especially like what Kroywen said, "Little tip: Google doesn't like blogs that feature nothing but affiliate links (yes, they know). Throw in some text (authored by you!) without any affiliate links every once in a while. This little strategy helps over time."

Follow all of the above advice from all of the responses, remember to post on a regular schedule and include unique relevant content and you will eventually get there.
