YNOT – Processing payments for the online adult industry always has been risky. Chargebacks, fraudulent charges and other abuses of payment services and are perennial headaches, especially since the big credit card networks now require webmasters to keep their statistics within very narrow targets or face cancellation of their accounts. Add to that the absence of credit cards among the majority of potential customers outside the U.S., and webmasters justifiably wonder how they’re supposed to maintain profitability online.

2000Charge made a dent in those concerns when the company debuted in 1999. By offering what then were unheard-of alternative payment solutions, 2000Charge changed the face of payment processing. Since then, the ...

YNOT – Sometimes referred to as Holland — which actually constitutes only a part of the country — the Netherlands is one of Europe’s most productive economies and one of the world’s top ten exporting countries.

Despite the country's relatively small size, the Netherlands has the 16th largest economy in the world; its main industries consist of shipping, foodstuffs, trade and banking. The country also has the lowest unemployment rate within the European Union, and according to UNICEF, it is the best place in the world to raise children.

When the Netherlands introduced the Euro ...

YNOT – In his bestselling book The World is Flat, Thomas Friedman analyzes 21st Century globalization, using the metaphor of the world as a level playing field upon which all economic competitors operate equally. Friedman explores the perceptual shift required for countries, companies and individuals to remain competitive in a global market where historical and geographical divisions are becoming increasingly irrelevant.

As individual countries such as Greece and Italy teeter on the brink of bankruptcy, other markets representing a significant portion of the world’s population continue to demonstrate ...

content/attachments/14526-eurobilling-jpg.html YNOT – One of the foundations of a successful e-commerce profit model centers on the impulse purchase. For many years, the ability to join a site or purchase on a whim has required a credit card. While this model has worked quite well in North America and elsewhere around the world, either alone or combined with a recurring membership or subscription, converting impulsive European shoppers remains a challenge. Online credit card usage in Europe lags behind adoption in other regions because of differing cultural views on debt and credit use.

Credit card billing in Europe certainly ...

content/attachments/13344-iphonepornchat-jpg.html YNOT – With the explosive growth of online social networking in recent years, porn stars now have several ways to communicate with their fans. But broadcasting the minutiae of everyday life via tweets and Facebook updates is not for everyone, stars and fans alike.

However, a ubiquitous device allows for a much more intimate form of communication. Yes, it’s back to basics folks: I’m talking about the good ol’ telephone.

By hosting multi-party conferences with their fans over lines powered by premium-rate numbers, porn stars can make money from callers, regardless whether they actually talk to each one. Here’s how it works:

content/attachments/12740-moneysqueeze-jpg.html YNOT – The online adult space is as competitive now as it has ever been. Over and above millions of websites out there, surfers have a virtually limitless supply of free material at their disposal thanks to all those tubes and torrents. Looks like the internet is still for porn, especially in the new free economy.

But all is not lost: Whilst the classic vanilla porn pay site may have had its day, there remain a plethora of products for which surfers are prepared to pay. Be it a niche site with hard-to-find content, an immersive 3D world or dating and cam sites whose end-user experience cannot be replicated on the tubes or elsewhere, sex still sells.

When it comes to turning bytes into bucks, the credit card understandably remains the most popular billing mechanism ...

Article Preview In theory, the dialler is the ideal billing mechanism to convert international surfers into paying customers. End-users would simply download some software onto their PC’s, which then reconnected to your members area via a premium number, and they would pay you on a per-minute basis. In practice, however, the dialler-era was short lived for a variety of reasons. When diallers first emerged, surfers worldwide (most of whom do not have a credit card) finally had a way to pay for the forbidden fruits that the Web had to offer. Not surprisingly, webmasters that implemented diallers were delighted ...
